Child to Child Education Programme

An initiative was taken by care unit of Hillwoods Academy to teach and interact with children of an remote villate in Uttar Pradesh. Nine Students along with their teacher and counsellor visited the rural areas of Uttar Pradesh and donated blackboards, books, sweaters and token gifts to bring smiles on their faces and encouraged them to gain education.

The students took the classes, conducted workshops, street plays, played educational games, held talk shows and quiz, Tongue twisters and amazing facts made education more interesting.

The programme aims at spreading education at grassroot level with the help of public schools. An effort is being made to integrate the deprived children of the country to the main stream society.

It helped in emotional bonding and sensitizing students for the cause of needy and the deprived. It is an effort to make the students more humane and compassionate.

 


A visit to St. Mary’s Home

Students of middle and senior section visited the old age home at Kashmere Gate.  Interacting with aged women, the students listened to their advice and shared their own experiences with them. Students gave gifts to them, sang song for them and listened to grannies stories with interest. Many students have decided to celebrate their birthdays with the grannies. Happy moments shared with the old ones gave students immense satisfaction and motivation to work for others.


A Visit to Amar Jyoti School

A visit to Amar Jyoti School was organized on 22nd April 09 to celebrate the Birthday of Nukul Bector , a student of class VI, along with his friends.  The students of Amar Jyoti were served with mid-Day meal sponsored by us. Our students visited different sections of the school  and interacted with the students with special needs. They also visited the lab, library, computer sections and the Audio lab. The Vocational section of the school such as jewellery, bakery, tailoring, art and  craft and computer hardware section was really good with all  necessary equipments.

Good gesture of our students was appreciated and thanked by the staff of Amar Jyoti. It was a great  learning and sharing experience for students.


VISIT TO OLD AGE HOME

The students of class XI visited St. Mary’s old age home on 25th oct’08 to share loving and affectionate moments with the elderly people, all the students have decided to celebrate the festival of Diwali with those Grandmas and share all the good things in life with them. They have given beautiful handmade cards and gifts to them and also danced and sang with the joyful moods and festivities brought inner happiness in their heart. Touched by warm gesture of the students, they blessed them all.

 

Blessed are those who get an opportunity to enrich the lives of people around them. The students of Hillwoods Academy are among those blessed by God
  • The students visited St. Mary’s Old Age Home on 16th November, 07 and 22nd December, 07 to share loving and affectionate moments with the elderly people. Our students have decided to celebrate their birth-days with the ‘Grandmas’ and share all good things of life and enjoy with them . Students presented a skit, gave greeting cards and also became a part of the Eye check up camp conducted by St. Stephen’s Eye Specialists
  • Students of Care Unit visited Amar Jyoti Charitable School for physically challenged children. A lunch was hosted for those special children. Sharing a cordial relationship with them was a great learning experience for our students and their parents too who joined their wards for a noble cause.
  • The students visited ‘Shanti Bhavan’, house of dying destitute in Burari on 12th January,08. The Grannies there were traumatised by their past . To do away with their remorseness, our students interacted and performed for them.  Later food was served and their blessings were sought.
